A job for anything Italian , but soaring towards a broader horizon , International, infused with many influences , where the watchword is" going beyond " , creating a unique blend and original, strongly personal and real , viscerally button and meaningful. Work inspired , volcanic sought in music , in the lyrics, interpreting , always ready to surprise the listener " (Musica e dischi)
" Summer is coming and this is the perfect album . Laura Falcinelli , aka Lawra , is a wonderful character : a figurative artist in the field , former vocalist of Jovanotti and Negrita , jazz musician , scholar of African music and with a track record of study of vocal technique . Laura is expressed with joy and versatility , contaminating soul, jazz , and suggestions "africanismi " south" in a theory of brilliant songs. a first striking " ( Blow Up )
" The author says that he wrote the songs thinking with " the heart of Italy , head to Europe , the soul in Africa . " And of those places you hear the rhythm to black music , which provides access to a trip with all the deepest feelings in other ways inaccessible worlds " ( Viva Verdi )
Lawra 's debut , is Tuscany (real name Laura Falcinelli ) and is backed by extensive work by a chorister Negrita and among others. "Origin " is a beautiful work of Italian fusion of pop , soul (often not far from the elegance and sophistication of Sade ) , funk, jazz , hip hop, African and Caribbean sounds . A melting pot sound dense and intense, full of strong flavors , on which the item is produced in Lawra sparks . The quality of the compositions and arrangements is very high and does not fear comparisons with the best productions . Excellent . ( Radiocoop.it )
Debut album for Lawra , aka Laura Falcinelli , former vocalist for Negrita , and many others. The watchword of "Origin " is contamination : soul, funk , reggae and passion for Africa ( Lawra is a city of Ghana is famous for its musical ferment ) echo along the ten songs produced by Francesco Rossi. The album opens with a bomb funk -rock like "Welcome To My Country " , and continues with beautiful songs like " I Want You Baby " , Diana Ross soul , or the soft Afrikan Eyes , complete with a refrain in Lingala , the language of the Congo. Mention also for " Underground Soldiers" song with an almost psychedelic , the Temptation of Norman Whitfield sung by Donna Summer . Great record this "Origin " . Also in Italy we have our soul woman. (Kd Cobain )
"Contamination ... funk (with a beautiful voice," black ", but it fits very well to other genres), electronics (which works particularly well for the ability to vocalist), boundaries (the album of Lawra no longer exist: one starts from an Italy shattered and without energy, in the initial Welcome to my country, and then travels to exotic destinations, not just a holiday but to integrate them into our reality), Africa (there is so much throughout the album), BBCiCO "Z (the vocalist is present in seven out of ten tracks), sophistication, alternation (of genres, including a song and another, in way to explore the variety of worlds songwriter) .. "(AsapFanzine)
I always had a deep attraction toward rhythm and black music. Since I was a kid, I looked for it around the world feeling it in my soul like an older sister and a seducing goddess. During my journey at the discovery of great artists, I was astonished how they could access my deepest feelings guiding me toward unknown, hidden worlds. Opening the eyes and feeling the surprise. A raw feeling that made me part of a community like a musician playing for me. I began dancing wearing a black dress and dancing shoes like all the young girls and trying to bring the music to my feet.
But singing... Express and learn to know yourself at the same time. Laying bare and give all you have. So, a few years later, even if I was painting and studying art at the Academy of Fine Arts, my heart, my thoughts and my nights were for music. For years, it has been my hiding place. Sometimes, I was looking for a private and unaccessible space where I could be with myself. I found it in that intimate world where music takes you and knows how to keep you company. Other times I was afraid, but music always wins and takes you back home. This is my way to celebrate music and say thank you.
I produce music putting in hard work, joy, long nights, discussions with other artists, love, cooking and traveling. This is the reason why I starts to take these productions out of the studio. These are the dreams of many people who work with me.
